Cimarron Air opened for business in November 1997. We are located on the Western Slope of Colorado in the small town of Montrose. We not only cater to our local Montrose clients, but we also have clients in Telluride, Ridgway, Ouray, Delta, and Aspen.
Blake Freeland is the owner and chief mechanic of this operation. He is a FAA Certified A&P Mechanic holding his IA certificate since 1981 without violations. He also keeps his private pilot's license current. Blake has 30 years of experience in General Aviation, extending beyond the regular maintenance needs of aircraft. He has worked on a wide range of single and multi-engine aircraft and has recovered and restored antique aircraft (both dope and fabric and metal). He has also assisted and offered his expertise in the building of prototypes and home-built aircraft. Blake's experience in many areas of aircraft has allowed him to be a reliable resource for pilots, owners, engineers, and in-training new mechanics.
David Crawford is a certified A&P with a commercial lighter than air certificate. He has worked for Cimarron Air for the last 5 years. His experiences include airline break down maintenance to Excellent woodworking and dope and fabric. He is a longstanding, reliable member of the team.
Cimarron Air works to maintain a friendly and informative working environment not only for its mechanics but also for those customers who choose to come and work on their own airplanes under the supervision of our certified mechanics. We also strive to be a reliable resource for pilots, students, owners, and our co-workers in the aircraft industry.
